Focused Built Environment Descriptions

When visiting Spelman College, it wasn’t hard to notice the historic features. Although the college is “all-female” the students are still close to males. Spelman is apart of the Atlanta University Center or the AUC. Spelman, Morehouse, & Clarke Atlanta are all in the same area and their campuses basically run together. Spelman is not only all female, it is also a historical black college. When visiting the campus I couldn’t help but notice the old buildings and dormitories. My mind wondered about all the history the buildings may hold and the stories about the people whom the buildings were named after. I could notice the buildings had age because most of them had even lost their color. Some buildings were missing brick and other buildings didn’t even have the feel of normal bricks anymore. The concrete sidewalks were cracked, chipped, discolored, and things of that sort that could only occur from the passing of time. My eyes defiantly took a trip through history during my visit.
